NATURE:

Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine, which has a reversible antagonistic effect against histamine at H1 receptors. Chlorpheniramine maleates well absorbed orally, appears in plasma within 30-60 minutes, reaching peak plasma concentrations after 2.5 - 6 hours. About 70% of circulating drug is bound to plasma proteins. The drug is excreted primarily in the urine as unchanged or metabolized, the excretion depends on the pH and urine flow. The half-life of Clorpheniramin is 12 -15 hours.

INDICATIONS: Allergic rhinitis, runny nose, stuffy nose, runny nose.

Other allergic symptoms such as urticaria, contact dermatitis, pruritus, food allergy, insect bites, allergic conjunctivitis, Quincke edema.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to chlorpheniramine and any component of the drug.

Monoamine oxydase inhibitors prolong and increase the anticholinergic effect of antihistamines.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

OVERDOSE AND TREATMENT:

The lethal dose of chlorpheniramine is about 25-50 mg / kg body weight.
